INFINITI Unveils QX65 Monograph Concept at Monterey Car Week

INFINITI is opening a bold new chapter with the QX65 Monograph, a provocative sportback SUV concept revealed at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. Expanding the brand’s Artistry in Motion design language into the two-row midsize segment, the QX65 Monograph blends daring proportions, elevated detailing, and a fastback roofline to signal the future direction of INFINITI design.

Inspired by the pioneering INFINITI FX, the QX65 Monograph embodies the innovative, challenger spirit that has defined the brand’s heritage. “QX65 Monograph has extraordinary character,” said Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president of Global Design. “It proudly stands apart in the cluttered midsize luxury space — sculpted with a sense of speed and elegance blended with muscular proportions.”

This dramatic stance begins with the fastback roofline, arching gracefully over the cabin before plunging toward the rear. The sleek upper body contrasts with a robust lower body, while pushed-out wheels and emphatic fenders create a purposeful, dynamic presence. Designers used horizontal theme lines to emphasize width and stability, differentiating QX65 Monograph from other INFINITI vehicles.

The concept debuts in Twilight, a striking color-shifting satin paint that transitions from reddish-purple to shimmering gold as light moves across its surface. Gloss black roof rails and wheels are complemented by bronze accents outlining the dramatic roof arch and grille, creating a high-contrast, crafted finish.

At the front, the grille evokes Japan’s bamboo forests — a signature INFINITI motif — but with a wilder texture befitting the sportback form. Extended digital piano key lighting spans nearly the full width of the nose, amplifying the vehicle’s wide stance and delivering a dramatic light show. In the rear, aeronautical-inspired taillights project outward like aircraft tailfins, adding depth and motion to the design.

Elevated detailing abounds, from the thin bronze spear accenting the roofline to the intricate 22-inch wheels whose multi-layered spokes twist like ribbons of speed. Together, these crafted touches create intrigue and reinforce the concept’s theme of movement.
