17,900 and counting…That’s the number of restaurants currently running in the state of Georgia. Living in the Metro-Atlanta area, choosing a restaurant to dine at is harder than it should be. Let’s admit it, Atlanta–WE”RE SPOILED!
Like most, you probably go to the same 10 restaurants. Maybe throw in a new one every now and again just to prove to yourself you’re still adventurous. And if that new restaurant is lucky enough, maybe you’ll throw it into the rotation. Well, Golden Eagle Diner’s Club should be your next adventurous moment eventually leading to an addition into your ‘Restaurant Rotation.’
Open since October of 2017, Golden Eagle is still relatively new, but nonetheless popular. Located along the Beltline’s East Trail in Reynoldstown, the moment you arrive at the refurbished train depot, you’re immediately transported to a different era. When you look at the menu, you really start believing in time travel. Restaurant owner Michael Lennox calls the menu a “no-nonsense, throwback to continental classics of yesteryear,” and features nostalgic dishes of the past like Crab Rangoon (made popular in the 1950s) to Italian Style Garlic Knots. Even the restaurants interior screams originality as it recently won Eater Atlanta’s ‘Design of the Year’ award for being a “stone cold stunner.” If you’re in the mood for some libations, let Bar Manager, Jeff Stockton, help you recapture the long-forgotten pleasure of the Amaretto Sour.
With a 4Star Rating on Yelp and 4.4 Star rating on Google, Michael Lenox and his crew seemed tohit Golden Eagle out of the park. But of course words and ratings can only do so much–you’ll have to visit and see for yourself!
Golden Eagle is open Sunday- Thursday from 5PM to Midnight and Friday-Saturday 5PM to 2AM.For more information, visit their website: GoldenEagleATL.com.
