INFINITI continues to set the standard for luxury ownership with a new, personalized welcome program for buyers of the all-new 2025 QX80. Building on its legacy of thoughtful hospitality, the brand aims to take the ownership experience beyond the vehicle, offering owners a first-class journey every step of the way.
Following the delivery of their new QX80, owners will be introduced to a dedicated INFINITI Client Experience Coordinator. This personal touch ensures that clients feel supported and connected to their new vehicle. The coordinator will reach out after the purchase to address any initial questions, assist with enrolling in connected car technologies such as the MyINFINITI app and Owner Portal, and help owners make the most of their QX80 experience.
For those seeking even more guidance, MyINFINITI Expert takes the experience a step further by offering a tailored, in-person or virtual visit a few weeks after purchase. During these visits, technology experts will demonstrate key QX80 features, such as the Klipsch audio system with Individual Audio, Biometric Cooling, and Invisible Hood View, while addressing any questions owners may have after spending time behind the wheel. The goal is to ensure that every owner feels confident and familiar with their QX80’s advanced features.
These services, available at no extra cost, reflect INFINITI’s dedication to creating an ownership experience that goes beyond the purchase, providing a personalized touch that enhances the luxury journey.
Bob Welby, Senior Director of Operations, INFINITI USA, shared, “INFINITI’s approach to thoughtful hospitality dates back to our founding in 1989. With the launch of the 2025 QX80, we wanted the ownership experience to match the exceptional design, performance, and craftsmanship of the vehicle. Programs like INFINITI Exclusives take luxury ownership to a whole new level by making every moment memorable.”
In addition to these new offerings, INFINITI continues to build on existing programs that enhance convenience and ease for clients. INFINITI Premium Care includes a comprehensive maintenance plan offering benefits like inspections, oil changes, and tire rotations. Complementing this is INFINITI Valet, a service that allows clients to have their vehicle picked up from home or work for service and returned once complete.
INFINITI’s focus on personalized care exemplifies its commitment to making ownership a seamless, enjoyable, and unforgettable experience.

Few individuals have influenced automotive performance and design as profoundly as Hiroyoshi Kato, a master driver at Nissan Motor Corporation since 1976. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Kato’s expertise has been pivotal in shaping the driving dynamics of countless Nissan and INFINITI vehicles, including the groundbreaking INFINITI G35.
Kato’s first experience with the G35 during its development phase marked the beginning of a vehicle destined to redefine luxury performance. The G35 coupe’s innovative Front Midship (FM) Platform was inspired by Nissan’s motorsport success, particularly in Le Mans and Group C racing. By positioning the 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine just behind the front axle, engineers achieved a 52:48 front-to-rear weight distribution—balancing stability with nimble handling while leaving room for its iconic design with wheels pushed to the corners.
As Kato recalls, the team benchmarked the BMW 3 Series but sought to create a uniquely “nimble and explosive” driving feel, emphasizing quick steering response, aggressive acceleration, and impressive line-traceability. Although some questioned whether the G35’s sharp steering was too bold for luxury buyers, glowing media reviews and customer enthusiasm quickly validated their daring approach.
The G35 was manufactured at Nissan’s Tochigi facility, adjacent to a proving ground where Kato spent countless hours fine-tuning its performance. On average, he logged 100 laps daily, testing the G35 and competitor vehicles under diverse conditions. Weekly, this amounted to nearly 2,000 miles, equivalent to driving three times the length of Japan’s Honshu island, all at speeds up to 200 kph.
Later in the G35’s lifecycle, INFINITI introduced a rear active steer system, a pioneering feature at the time. Kato and his team meticulously calibrated the system to enhance handling without compromising the driver’s connection to the car. For Kato, the challenge lay in ensuring the system felt natural and engaging, placing human feedback at the forefront of innovation.
Celebrating 35 Years of INFINITI
As INFINITI celebrates its 35th anniversary on November 8, 2024, the G35’s story is a testament to the brand’s enduring commitment to innovation and daring design. Guided by three core values—Human, Daring, Forward—INFINITI continues to challenge the conventions of automotive luxury.
This legacy lives on with the launch of the all-new INFINITI QX80, ushering in a new era of bold, driver-focused vehicles that honor the brand’s storied past while shaping its future.
Celebrating 35 Years with the Pioneering INFINITI FX

As INFINITI marks 35 years of redefining automotive luxury, we turn the spotlight on the FX, a model that not only helped pioneer the coupe-crossover segment but also showcased the brand’s bold, innovative spirit. Debuting at retailers across North America in early 2003, the FX was a revolutionary blend of aggressive styling, thrilling performance, and luxury comfort, setting a new benchmark for what SUVs could achieve.
Lead designer Hideo Komuro envisioned the FX as a “cool fusion,” melding the robust lower body of an SUV with the sleek, sophisticated upper profile of a sports coupe. A defining feature of the FX’s design is the “Dynamic Arch”—a striking window line inspired by the curvature of a traditional Japanese bow, exuding motion and energy even when the vehicle is stationary.
Komuro and his team drew inspiration from unexpected sources. The roofline and upper body design were influenced by a wire-framed pavilion, whose structural tension and spacious elegance sparked the FX’s dynamic and airy appearance. Komuro also credits Shiro Kuramata, a renowned Japanese designer, for inspiring the vehicle’s minimalist exterior. “Kuramata’s ability to create surprises by introducing a single focal element into simplicity greatly influenced my approach,” he shared.
The FX’s rear hatch embodies this philosophy, with a crescent-shaped lower rear window that serves as both a design accent and a functional feature. The subtle dip in the glass, inspired by the neckline of a traditional Japanese kimono, enhances rear visibility while adding a touch of elegance.
This seamless blend of artistry and utility has cemented the FX’s place as a cornerstone in INFINITI’s history, showcasing the brand’s commitment to combining Japanese craftsmanship, daring design, and innovation.
As we celebrate INFINITI’s legacy, the FX stands as a reminder of how bold ideas and thoughtful design can redefine automotive segments, paving the way for future generations of luxury vehicles.
Elevate Your INFINITI with a Unique Satin Finish

At INFINITI of South Atlanta, we want to make sure you love your new INFINITI more than we do. Starting this month, when you purchase a new vehicle, you have the option to add an upgraded paint finish to your vehicle. Our current showcase is the Semi PPF Satin Finish, which adds just the right amount of elevation to make your INFINITI as luxurious as possible.
The Semi PPF Satin Finish offers a perfect blend of matte and gloss finishes, delivering a semi-gloss look that beautifully highlights a vehicle’s body lines and contours. This unique finish provides a sleek, understated sheen, giving cars a modern and sophisticated appearance with added depth and richness. Its versatile aesthetic makes it a popular choice among car owners who want a refined yet durable finish that enhances both style and protection. Our package also includes blacked out emblems throughout the exterior.
Paint Protection Film (PPF) acts as an invisible shield, designed to maintain your vehicle’s like-new appearance for years to come. With self-healing properties, the film provides long-lasting defense against paint chips and scratches. Since a vehicle is one of the most significant purchases many people make, protecting that investment has never been simpler or more effective.

In celebration of INFINITI’s 35th anniversary, we take a nostalgic look back at one of its most daring designs—the J30 sedan. Launched in 1992, the J30 embodied INFINITI’s commitment to innovative design, boldly breaking away from the conventional styles of its time.
At a time when many sedans featured boxy, angular shapes, INFINITI set out to create something refreshingly different with the J30. Described as a model that would “break away from the tyranny of the wedge,” the J30’s sleek and flowing lines offered a stylish alternative to the typical designs of the early ’90s.
The North American brochure for the J30 captured this idea, describing the model as “A car that reflects, rather than defines, the personality of its owner.” This sentiment, along with INFINITI’s unique approach to marketing the J30, set the car apart. Prior to its arrival in showrooms, potential buyers were invited to receive a free VHS videocassette titled A Curious Journey and a “personal guest drive,” offering an unconventional introduction to the luxury sedan.
One of the standout aspects of the J30 is its connection to Alfonso Albaisa, now Senior Vice President of Global Design at INFINITI. The J30 was the first full-model design program Albaisa worked on, and his involvement with the project has become a defining moment in his career. Albaisa was part of the team at Nissan Design International (now Nissan Design America) in La Jolla, California, where the J30 was conceived. The goal was to cut through the crowded sedan market with a design that was deliberately provocative, particularly in the rear, which remains one of the most distinctive features of the J30 to this day.
The bold design of the J30’s rear end was inspired by an unlikely source—a luxury yacht project that Albaisa was also working on at the time. The yacht, named Motali, influenced the arched, flowing lines that Albaisa incorporated into the J30’s design. This cross-disciplinary approach helped the J30 stand out from its competitors, making it a true icon of its time.
Reflecting on the design process, Albaisa recalls how Motali’s sleek, tapered stern helped inspire the unique rear design of the J30. “While working on Motali, I was drawing arched lines that crossed over side to side, and our studio director encouraged me to apply that concept to the J30. It was a game changer,” Albaisa said.
Though the J30 was only in production for a single generation from 1992 to 1997, its bold design and unique features left a lasting impact on INFINITI’s design philosophy. The spirit of innovation, and the idea of channeling nature’s beauty into automotive design, continues to shape INFINITI vehicles today.
As INFINITI marks 35 years of daring design and innovation, the J30 remains a symbol of the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries and rethinking what luxury sedans could be. Its legacy lives on in the creative approaches that continue to define INFINITI’s global design team.
